Appeal Information for Year 7 Admissions September 2021
If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2021 you can appeal between 1 March - 28 March 2021 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 14 June 2021. For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged. If you have not been successful in gaining a place at Maidstone Grammar School for September 2021 and you named Maidstone Grammar School on your SCAF you can appeal between the dates listed above.
Please complete the MGS Secondary School Appeal Form HERE (before completing, please refer to the school's generic Defence Statement and FAQs via the links below). Once you have completed the form you can submit further evidence to support your appeal. Please send to Denise Friend, Clerk to Governors preferably via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to the school address. If you post documents to the school please do not send any binders, folders or use paperclips etc as all documentation will be scanned and passed on electronically to KCC’s Appeals Team.
If you intend lodging an appeal, you should still send the acceptance form back to the school that you were offered. If your appeal is upheld and you are offered a place at MGS, you can then withdraw your acceptance from the initial school accepted. However, if your appeal if not upheld your child will still have a place at a school in September.
