Projects to Support

Phase 1 - Sports facilities

The pavilion is an iconic feature of the School and has been part of its landscape since 1930.
However, it needs major refurbishment to improve and modernise the changing facilities.
The proposed design retains the pavilion’s very traditional look and feel but includes a new, fully equipped fitness suite and clubhouse, making it a building we can proud of when hosting visiting teams.
If we were also able to provide an all-weather pitch, this would further enhance our existing sports facilities and prove to be a useful resource for both the School and the local community.
It would not only provide additional training space for our football and rugby teams but also allow for the further development of 5-a-side football, hockey and tennis.

Phase 2 - Performing arts and science

We would like to increase the profile of music and drama within the School and local community, and see Maidstone Grammar School becoming the place to study the performing arts.
The new two-storey building, with music classrooms, drama and performance spaces, and sound-proof practise rooms on the ground floor, will replace the existing music department.
Upstairs there will be additional and much-needed science laboratories and general classrooms. These are essential to provide modern accommodation for an expanding student population. Developing both these areas will allow the School
to teach specialist subjects in purpose-built rooms, increasing the opportunities available to staff and students for both teaching and learning.
